New handy service – AdsSpy.com
A new handy service from the SeoQuake Team is now available!
AdsSpy.com is designed for webmasters that make money and spend money on internet advertising.
And we integrated it with SeoQuake!
It looks like :

You can disable it by using SeoQuake>preferences>plugins>adsspy
There is extensive effort behind the release of this service. We analyzed more than 5 millions of popular websites, listed numerous affiliates and partners of Ad Sense, YPN, Chitika and Amazon.com. We identified over 460 000 accounts.
If your SeoQuake is enable then when you visit any page with Ad Sense, YPN, Chitika or Amazon advertising, you will see the sites with the same owner code. Clicking on the link gets you to AdsSpy.com where you can get a full report for this domain or publisher id.
How does it help?
1. Identify MFA-networks, and ban them in your adwords account.
2. Uncover the secrets of successful webmasters, and learn some tips and tricks based on years of practical experience.
3. Check your own site and see if there is only your adsense code or you’ve been hacked.
4. You can find stolen content or wordpress themes.
Special offer for bloggers: write a review of AdsSpy.com and we will get you a Free-account.
Just send me a link to your blog

BUT it’s blocking out the ads on my page even when I disable it so that I can’t see them?
What are you doing to fix this?
April 15th, 2008 at 4:34 am
Well it can’t do this
in no ways.
Please check your firefox for Adblock or AdBlock+ extentions. Or may be your firewall.
April 25th, 2008 at 5:53 am
I have been seeing this about on the web for some time.
Now you have found my sites.
Even if I disable it, others will still see it.
Don’t you think this is a gross violation of my privacy?
April 25th, 2008 at 12:40 pm
Hello Jenny.
We believe that does not affect your privacy.
Moreover, it will make the Internet more transparent and stimulate equal opportunities for everyone. The webmasters will treat their projects in a more responsible way.
And what do you think about domaintools.com?
April 25th, 2008 at 3:30 pm
the new tool is pretty cool, but sometime it will send wrong informationen. In my case it say zero Ads with this ID – this is wrong. I got more….
April 25th, 2008 at 6:33 pm
What the h**l is this? How can you put something on my site? Who gives permission for this? Certainly I didn’t. I don’t even recall being asked!
April 26th, 2008 at 2:20 pm
2Cashmaker: we add lot of domains every day
just wait =)

Why do all good things eventually become corrupt by the lure of big $$$?
May 1st, 2008 at 9:11 am

Whilst I can see it’s uses. I do think that you are contraviening the publishers rights. Its one thing to prevent parts of a site that a user doesn’t want to see (i.e. pop ups etc) But to add things onto a site? Where do you draw the line, will the next thing be to replace the add codes with your own or somebody elses? Is this the thin end of the wedge to hi jacking sites. (Because it certainly comes close in my book).
By all means provide seperate reports about what is happening on a site, but surely you are affecting the site owners copywrite by changing the look and feel, by adding your code (no matter how useful it may be). You wouldn’t expect to go and buy a magazine from a shop and then have it altered by the shop owner. I’m sure there would be a few law suites raised by those magazines that could afford it.
Yes I know I can turn it on/off and could be useful for me to check the sites I own. But I cannot prevent others defacing my hard work.
May 12th, 2008 at 7:35 am
to Peter:
We don’t replace any codes. We just provide you additional information about this site relations wtih other sites.
It’s like you come to your assistant and she gives you the magazine with her remarks about content.
May 12th, 2008 at 10:13 pm
Hi,
I wasn’t suggesting that you changed any codes or that you would, just that it would be possible.
As for my assistant I could tell her not to make remarks (i.e. I can turn it off). Its the other readers assistants of my magazine that cut out my ads and then remark that there was an add there, Thats where I lose control over the content.
From what I have seen any ad boxes get replaced by a blank box with some header text telling the viewer how many ads were on the page before it removed them.
How does that affect those that use adwords that are paid for by CPM i.e. cost per thousand impressions, because at that point you have taken that impression away (if that is registered by Google or who ever as an impression because the code to display the ad has been sent from the server you would effectively be stealing or defrauding the site owner).
I don’t have any problems with the privacy bit that some are discussing, as they are putting up the ads and its not unreasonable to know who is displaying them. After all an honest marketer should have nothing to hide.
May 13th, 2008 at 5:19 am
to Peter:
Please, be more precise.
You CAN on\off adsspy plugin in SeoQuake at any moment by 1 click.
SeoQuake DO NOT remove or replace ANY ads (Google or others).
Let me tell you how SQ works – we check HTML-code of a page for ads and place our message BEFORE it in HTML.
So, please send me URLS and SCREENSHOTS. And we will see the Truth.
May 14th, 2008 at 10:06 am

How can anyone say this is an invasion of privacy? It’s just automating data collection. All the AdSense IDs are out there on websites. Anyone could collect these IDs and organize them a dozen different ways.
“But to add things onto a site?”
You installed SeoQuake. You can control the preferences. No one is forcing (or adding) anything onto a site.
“Why do all good things eventually become corrupt by the lure of big $$$?”
What’s wrong with trying to make Money? Isn’t that why you have AdSense on your website?
This is a great service, and SeoQuake is a great system. Why shouldn’t they be able to make a little $$$?
June 5th, 2008 at 3:58 am
Thanks! good tool

AdSpy: I use AdSense ads on several of my web sites, and the first few times I saw the AdSpy info inserted next to my ad-blocks it worried me!
These are the things that went through my head:
What the hell is that?
Where did it come from?
Why are **Google** showing this info about MY ad-blocks?
Do Google think I am overdoing it with AdSense?
Are they about to close my account?
Do you understand? I totally got the wrong end of the stick, and thought I was about to be penalised. I take a pride in creating my websites, and I legitimately use a single AdSense account ID across several web sites. There is nothing wrong with that, but it may appear to other people who install SEOQuake, and do not understand AdSense ads, where they come from or what the rules are, that since the word “SPY” has been put next to it, then its creating a certain stigma, as if I’m a bad person!
Yes, I love SEO Quake and have recommended it to many people, and love its features, especially the ability to show NoFollow links.
But until I discovered that it was SEOQuake actually inserting that AdSpy information next to my ad-blocks, yes I was concerned. Once I understood it, and the reasons for doing it, I relaxed a bit.
However, I think you guys have probably created a rod for your own back by calling it “AdSpy”!!
Perhaps if you named it “AdInfo” then it would have caused a lot less fuss?
So that’s my suggestion – rename it to seem a little more innocent and not raise peoples suspicions.
What do you think?
July 4th, 2008 at 7:49 am
To: Jim
You are right.
We will think about renaming this service, we are looking for more lovely name.

Nice tool man!
August 23rd, 2008 at 3:05 am
I’m not sure how I feel about having my sites all linked together for anyone with $5 to see them all, but I can see a lot of potential for AdsSpy. All in all I think it has the potential to be a very good addition to SEO Quake, I would just like to see it not listing sites that I have paid for WhoIs Guard on. You can see more about that in my post about AdsSpy on my freelancer’s blog: AdsSpy sees you… and it knows where you sell advertising.
August 25th, 2008 at 1:20 pm
Sandra if I where you I would be pissed at the company that sold you the WhoIs Gaurd because it obviously isn’t working and I would thank AdsSpy addition for pointing it out for you.
This add on is a great tool and it seems the people who are most pissed off about it are those whom have used the advertising code in such a manner that a visitor can not tell the difference between the advertisement and the website, which in most cases is a violation of any system that offers affiliate advertisement. So I have to say this is an absolutely great add on, expose them all.
August 26th, 2008 at 6:48 am
Gary – the WhoIs guard is working just the way it is supposed to, but the way I understand AdsSpy to work it is collecting data together from different websites and using AdSense information to link them together. Creating a list of any site with AdSense code that matches. Thus the only way to keep the sites from being linked together would be to not have AdSense on the sites that have WhoIs guard on them.
September 1st, 2008 at 2:10 am
nice tool but its name AdsSpy!wondering who is spying me??anyway great work Gary..
September 5th, 2008 at 1:01 pm
I don’t understand why we need to spy on people. I don’t know if it’s ok with google when we spy on adsense publishing id from other people.
September 7th, 2008 at 1:00 pm
Wow, cmon guys, don’t just blame seoquake for making tool like this. It depends on us to give this tool a meaning. For me this tool helps my work… for others, they may say its an invasion of privacy… just disable this tool or don’t install seoquake if you don’t like it! its not like you have to pay to use this awesome tool anyway
September 8th, 2008 at 10:06 pm
This is not okay. Some of us create websites that are ‘ghost’ created, but logged under our user id’s for google. The intentions were good, but this is just not a good thing in regards to web designers who may be ‘ghost’ writing
September 9th, 2008 at 8:33 am
For those whining about privacy – it took me all of 10 seconds to hide myself… If you’re worried about it, get new adsense code. Google has changed the js code which prevents tools like this from working.
September 16th, 2008 at 5:38 am
Wow… this is great tools for spy my adsense id friend…

sounds silly,
I have 10 sites and using the same adsense id on all of them but this toll says only 2 sites has this id, I checked the pages manually to see whether I setup the adsense id correctly and yes I did it right, then what the heck with this tool??
October 4th, 2008 at 11:42 am

This is a perfect utility for all my works. I am in love with this. small thing with broad uses. Thank you for this.
March 7th, 2009 at 6:00 pm
The purpose of adsense is to BLEND IN WITH YOUR SITES content, HOPING that a user will click on your ads. The fact is that this tool (AdsSpy) pretty much destorys any webmasters chances of getting clicks due to there being a BLATANT sign stating that this is an Adsense ad…
While I like SEO Quake very much, I think the AdsSpy addon is complete crap, because of my above mentioned reason…
March 8th, 2009 at 5:41 am
Google has changed the js code which prevents tools like this from working, thanks

Good Job….

FireFox is already dog-slow. This program is very interesting and I plan to explore it more when I am doing SEO work.
In the meantime, I need to be able to toggle it off in order to do work.
My settings has SEOQuake inside the browser window. The only way that I can see how to toggle this off is to dis-able the program and re-start FF.
If there is another way to dynamically toggle on-off, can you point to a comprehensive description of how to do it? You’ve written three times “just right-click here” but I don’t see it.
Thanks!

AdsSpy is providing the data above the ads but when you try to click through, you get a long pause followed by a 504 Gateway time-out.

From a SEO perspective, I can see its uses, but I do hate to see it on my site. To be fair, you should have an adsense id publisher opt-out list! Also, someone said that Adsense has alread changed its code, but where? When you generate a new ad there, the Adsense publisher ID is shown again. Anyone knows HOW to avoid AdsSpy (via AdSense), please let me know and list the url for more information, too.
Also, I do hate the word AdsSpy, and I do hate that it does ruins my design.

SEOquake your tools is quite useful, I disagree with all who say it is an invasion of privacy, its just an easier way to access public information. I would suspect the people that are upset about adsspy are probably up to no good anyways. If they do not want there name to be associated with…..
“Junk Content” (in any form) then they should stop publishing it

Excellent service SEOQuake! First and foremost, the bar and keywords have been very insightful and even profitable (I am now #1 position for 3 keyword phrases in my niche).
I attribute a large part of this to the shortcut research now available through your software. Thank you so much.
The AdsSpy tool, while great for picking up on ‘black-hatters’, also focuses my attention on ad-placement techniques the crafty marketers use. Especially when they tempt me to click on them…
Stay the Course! (Maybe change name to WhoAds or AdsBy though)

I was checking seo quake on my own site. .
It shows AdsSpy: 3 sites by this AdSense ID
However, there are more than 7 sites using this adsense id.
Secondly, SEO quake is not refreshing instantly when site contents change. There is long delay. Pls check. Thanks
